Get ready to spread some holiday cheer! Normandin Middle School is celebrating Holiday Spirit Week from Monday, December 16th, to Friday, December 20th. Each day, join the fun by dressing up and showing your festive school spirit!

Monday: Holiday Headgear Day 
Wear your favorite festive hats or headbands!

international baccalaureate candidate school

Normandin Middle School is a Candidate School for the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program and we are excited to share that we are pursuing IB World authorization. These are schools that share a common philosophy, a commitment to high quality, challenging, international education that New Bedford Public Schools and the Normandin School Community believe is important for our students.

 

Only schools authorized by the IB Organization can offer any of its four academic programs:

  • Primary Years Program (PYP)
  • Middle Years Program (MYP)
  • Diploma Program (DP),
  • Career-related Program (CP)

It is important to note that candidate status gives no guarantee that IB Authorization will be granted. For further information about the IB and its programs, please visit www.ibo.org

Message from principal
Meet Justine Santos, principal of Normandin Middle School, where every challenge is an opportunity for growth and every student has the potential to reach their goals. 
Principal Santos is excited to lead the Normandin Middle School team. As a lifelong resident of New Bedford and a dedicated educator, she is deeply committed to transforming Normandin into a leading example of educational innovation and achievement.
Principal Santos' journey at Normandin began eighteen years ago as a literacy teacher, where she spent 10 rewarding years helping students discover the power of reading and writing. She then served as assistant principal at Congdon Elementary School for 5 years, followed by 3 years as principal. 
At Normandin, we believe that small shifts can have big impacts. Our team is dedicated to creating a safe and inclusive environment where every student can thrive. Together, we will work hard, be kind, and stay safe, embodying our school's code of conduct in everything we do.
As the Normandin Navigators, we are committed to an instructional focus that encourages students to "Listen and read to know, speak and write to show what they know." This approach will empower our students to become confident communicators and critical thinkers.
Normandin Middle School will rise to new heights. We will embrace our identity as an up-and-coming performing arts school, fostering creativity and innovation in our students. Our journey may be challenging, but we are confident that with perseverance and a growth mindset, we will achieve greatness together.
We are excited to embark on this journey of growth and success with you all. Together, we will make Normandin Middle School a place where every student can achieve their full potential.
